I'm very happy to say that I've been asked
to serve as Guest Designer this month at
Today begins an all new fortnightly challenge and the theme is:
Anything Goes
Always a crowd pleaser, right?
The sponsor for this challenge is:
The lucky winner will receive a £10 gift card. That is huge! There are so many fun embellishments, papers, flowers, supplies, etc, etc, etc in their shop. Wow, the fun spending that will be!
I decided to use Lacy Sunshine's image Holly's Garland for my card.
She is absolutely adorable!
For some unknown reason, the ink from my printer smudged when I was coloring Holly's sweet little face. You can see that in this photo right there over her eye:
Since I already had the eyes and hair colored I really wanted to save the image. As I always say, "There are no mistakes in card making, only new opportunities for additional embellishments." What to do? Put a cute little headband on Holly, of course! So, I tied a tiny bow, pierced a couple of holes just to the sides of her head, and threaded the ribbon through to the back of the paper where I taped it in place. Problem solved.
Tada! No more smudge...or at least not nearly so noticeable a smudge and that works for me.
The "fur" on Holly's dress was done with Liquid Applique. If you're looking for some fun stuff to do snow or fur, this is it! It goes on just like puffy paint. After it's dried, you go over it with your heat gun and it gets all puffy and lumpy. I love the effect and love even more how easy it is. You can see a bit more of the dimension in these photos:
You can find this card in the following challenges:
Hobbycutz -- Inspired by a song (Deck the Halls)
Great Impressions -- Holiday card or tag
Lacy Sunshine -- Anything goes
Stamping Sensations -- Christmas
