Dream Big with Paper Temptress and Mo Manning

This is going to be an unusually short post.
Because of a shoulder injury, typing is incredibly difficult.

Here is a card I've done for the Paper Temptress Community Blog.  All of the yummy papers used for this card
are from Paper Temptress' store.
The image is from Mo Manning and the brad is from my stash.

Here are the papers I used to make this card:

You should also know that the Red Pepper Skinny Columns paper is in the Valentine's Day Variety Package which is currently on sale.  This is an excellant value and a great way to try out some of the papers available at Paper Temptress.

Created with Love #74

Hello and welcome to our new challenge at

Our theme this week is always a huge crowd pleaser:
Anything Goes

I was happy to receive the gorgeous Grape Bunch image to use for my card this week.  Thank you to the fine folks at Sparkle 'n Sprinkle!

The sentiment stamp is from an old Clear Dollar Stamps set.  It began life as one long stamp and I carefully cut it into 2 parts.  Doing this really increases the versatility of a stamp.  Just don't do it after too much coffee. LOL.

My original plan was to mask the image and stamp around it.
That plan changed when I stamped directly on top of the image before I masked it.  Oops.  Instead of starting over, I just went with it and wound up loving the effect.  Don't you just love happy accidents?

I printed the image twice so I was able to fussy cut the top leaf and do a bit of dimensional paper piecing.  Just a few minutes of cutting makes such an impact!

You can see in the photo above that the image mat was added to dimensional tape for even more interest.

That fantastic background paper was a gift from one of my Hubby's friends....Thanks Troy!  It's from the Romance 6x6 stack by Paper House Productions.  A link to that and all of the other items used to make this card can be found below.

Sentimental Sundays and Sami Stamps

Thanks for stopping by today!
I'd love to invite you to a new challenge at

Our theme this week is:
Lovey Dovey
How cute is that?

I decided to use "Umbrella Love" for my card this week.
Isn't it such a sweet image?  I think it's very romantic!

The sentiment is from Little Yellow Bicycle's Journal stamp set.  I really like the way it wraps around the umbrella so nicely.  To play up the words, I traced over all of them with a light blue ProMarker.

I added the second part of the sentiment on the inside of the card.  Little hearts were added along the bottom edge of the inside.  They were made with a Martha Stewart Heart Confetti Punch.

One of my brand new, very juicy markers decided to hiccup all over just as I was finishing coloring.  Suddenly, there was a giant splotch right at the base of the pony tail.  Arrrgh!

This was a great time to remind myself of one of my favorite sayings:
There are no mistakes in card making....
merely new opportunities for additional embellishments.
So, my girl is wearing a rose and bow in her hair.
No more splotch.

Come and Get It with A Day for Daisies

Welcome to a new challenge at
Please note that we now have a new address for the challenge blog due to some technical difficulties with our previous one.  You can find us at:  cagichallenge.blogspot.ca.

This week we have a really fun theme:
Let's Go Shopping.

Our fantastic sponsor is
A Day for Daisies

I selected "Fashion Shopping" for my card this week.

Since this image has such a mod feel to it, I really wanted to accentuate that.  I did that by only coloring her clothing and accessories.  A little bouquet was added to one of her shopping bags with a bit of paper piecing and some dimensional tape.  The white flowers and green tissue paper were both from my stash.

My color scheme was inspired by the rosette.  It was made with paper from the Fancy Pants Merry Little Christmas stack.  The circles were cut using Spellbinders Lacey Circles dies.  I hot glued the rosette onto the card base.  A double layer of dimensional tape was added around the perimeter of the card to hold the gray and olive green mats up over the level of the rosette.  I wish I could remember where I had seen this idea so I could give the proper credit.  To whomever shared this technique:  Thank you...I love it!!

The rhinestone sticker in the middle of the rosette is from Freckled Fawn.  The awesome beaded trim is from Joann.  I've been hoarding had that trim for quite some time just waiting for the right project.  This was definitely the one I'd been waiting for!

I wrapped a narrow satin ribbon around the dimensional tape
to hide it.

I absolutely adore the way this card looks!
I'll most definitely be using this technique on more cards.
Wouldn't it look great on Christmas cards?
