Come and Get It -- Something new

Welcome to a brand new challenge at
We want to see you
Use Something New
This can be a new tool or a new technique.

Our sponsor this week is

I've been wanting to try my hand at a Delft style card and this seemed like a great chance.  The theme of our challenge was right and The Stamping Boutique has this adorable windmill image.

My inspiration for the card has been hanging in my Mom's kitchen for as long as I can remember.

I love this old coffee grinder.  It's always been missing the little box that should be hanging from the bottom.  It would look very strange to see one there.

The background paper was made with my Scor-Pal.
I scored every 1/4" in one direction then rotated the paper one quarter turn and scored every 1/4" again.  The grid was lightly inked with Colorbox Royal Blue to accentuate it.

The stamp in all 4 corners is from the Recollections Brackets and Corners stamp set.  The patterned paper behind the image layer is from a Studio G paper pack.  It can be found in the Dollar Bin at Michaels, WalMart, and Meijers.  This is a 6x6 pack and I love them!!  They are available in blue, pink, yellow, and green.  There are 15 sheets in each pack and all are different patterns.  It's such a great value...if you can find them, I highly recommend you pick some up.

I really had a lot of fun making this card and look forward to trying this technique again.  What technique have you been wanting to try? As if there's only one technique we crafters have on our To-Do lists.  Give one of them a go and join us at
Or maybe you got a really great new toy tool from Santa that you'd like to play work with.  We hope you share your new creation with us this week.  Good luck to all that enter!

  2. Roberta, this is absolutely lovely! I have never heard of the delft technique so I will have to check that out. I can honestly say there are so many things I want to try that I could create for months and not try everything. But today I am definitely going to craft as we will be snowed in as I imagine you are too. Thanks for the inspiration. Gorgeous image and I love all the special touches you've added!
