Virtual Card Making Party Challenge #7

Phew.
Challenge #7.  Holy cannoli.
I'm going crazy trying to keep up with these....
and I'm lovin' every minute of it!
(There was an episode of Seinfeld where Kramer said that and it still makes me giggle just to think of it.)

Our hostess for this time 'round was Marilyn and she left the sketch decision up to us.  Her only requirement was that it be a fall themed card but not Thanksgiving.  Having lived in Brown County, Indiana for many years, I have a great affinity for autumn.  Brown County is home to a state park as well as the artist's village of Nashville, IN.  Masses of tourists visit each fall to enjoy the incredible scenery.  Because I love BC (met hubby there!) this challenge made me very happy.

I decided on Sketch #167 although, true to form, I altered it ever so slightly.  First of all, I rotated it 90 degrees to the left.  Then, because of the embossing folder I used, I also omitted the border.  Here's the sketch:

This was actually an experimental card.  I've had this embossing folder for a while but not used it in this way.  I'll be doing this again because I love the way it turned out and it was quick and easy.  By the way, it really looks better in person than my photography can show.  Anyway, here it is:

Very rustic and makes me think of my high school years.  I like it.

You can find this card and the others for Challenge #7 here.
I've also submitted it here:

  2. What an awesome embossing folder. It's so hot in Texas right now, so I can't wait for pumpkins and pie and falling colored leaves. Thanks for playing!
