Sentimental Sundays #190

Since today is Sunday, I'd like to invite you to our new challenge at

Sponsoring this week we have:

The theme we'd like to see you play with this week is
More Than 3 Layers
This is so appropriate for those of us here in central Indiana....we're all about layering it up right now.  Layers of clothes, layers of blankets, and layers of snow. This month is only 2/3 over and already we've had almost 23 inches.  ~~We average around 9 inches of snow for January.~~  In fact, it's snowing as I type this post and this was the view of our swimming pool while I made this card:

Buried under that snow, there really is a diving board.
We had about 11 inches of snow then....
from just one snow storm.
Ugh.

Needless to say, I'm really in the mood for some warm weather.
So I did the only thing I could do:  I worked with sunny colors.

That awesome image is "Helium" from Paper Pretties.
The sentiment is one of the 3 that are included with your purchase.
It's such a great value!  I loved coloring this adorable little guy with my ProMarkers.  He's definitely going to show up on some
Valentine's Day cards too.

The color scheme of the card was inspired by that great striped ribbon.  It's one that I picked up from the Michaels $1 ribbon bin.
The brads are Recollections.
The shimmery patterned paper is a Hambly Studio Screen Print from Paper Temptress.  It's called Little Circles.
All of the other items used to make this card are listed below.

You can find this card in the following challenges:
Di's Digi Designs -- Spots and dots
My Time to Craft -- All about the love
Jo's Scrap Shack -- It's a love thing
Simply Create Too -- Valentine's Day or use hearts
DRS Designs -- Love/marriage
Really Reasonable Ribbon -- Love and ribbon
Hobbycutz -- Lots of layers

All of us on the Design Team are so excited to see loads of great entries in our 3 Layers or More challenge this week.  Remember that because we are Sentimental Sundays we do need to see a sentiment on your projects.

Come and Get It Challenge #3

is beginning a new challenge today with the theme of
Food, Glorious Food.

Sponsoring this week is one of my favorite digi companies:

Bugaboo was generous enough to allow all of the Design Team to select our own image to work with for this challenge.  I'm crazy about the JJ line of images so I decided to find one of her hilarious options.  The decision was an easy one when I saw this image/sentiment combo.

Isn't she fun?  I just love JJ!

My paper choices were inspired by that great scarf JJ's wearing.
I colored her scarf to coordinate with the small polka dots.
What kind of new Food, Glorious Food project will you be adding to our challenge at Come and Get It this week?
All of us on the Design Team look forward to seeing your creations!

Creative Fingers and Scrapper's Delights

Today begins a new challenge at
This week we have one of the funnest themes I've seen:
Fairy Tales

Our great sponsor this week is

The fine folks over at Scrapper's Delights allowed all of us on the Design Team to select our own image to use for this challenge.  Since I recently discovered that there is actually a Grimm's Fairy Tale called "Queen Bee," I had to search for a great bee image.  That's when I found the perfect one....

I love her attitude and that awesome honey dipper for her scepter.  The image was paired with a sentiment from Repeat Impressions.  The embellishments on the card were inspired by the sentiment.  I added some washi tape with numbers on it some white layering weight paper.  The washi tape is from the dollar bin at Meijer.  The black mesh is from a produce bag.

The little tag is from my stash and I added the number one with a Martha Stewart stamp.  A button from my stash was tied onto the tag with baker's twine.

I added a few black rhinestone stickers from the Michaels dollar bin around the white mat.  The ends of the antennae were just screaming for a couple of the small rhinestones.  I initially thought I would just add some Glossy Accents to the wings but decided to throw a bit of gold glitter on top.  I love the effect that gave.  It's like Stickles Lite.

All of us on the Design Team at
would love to see your new Fairy Tale inspired project this week.
Good luck to all that enter!
