Punchin' it up at Sentimental Sundays

For my second post today,
I'm happy to invite you to our new challenge at
Our theme this week is
"Pack a Punch"
So we want to see your new creations using either a punch or a diecut.

Our fantastic sponsor this week is

My card is for my youngest son, Joe.  Betcha' never would have guessed his name on your own, right?  He is celebrating his 19th birthday TODAY!  Holy cow.  How did that happen?  It's all gone by so quickly!

I used a 1" square punch from Fiskars to punch out areas to place stickers.  The fun image is one that I put together using Doodle Pantry's Birthday Accessories.  I used a new method to color the images.  Using my ProMarker Blender pen, I colored with chalk.  I need to work with this technique more (obviously) but it was really fun!  I look forward to giving it another go sometime.

Because of my shoulder injury, this is going to be my final card over at Sentimental Sundays for a couple of months or so.  I can't wait to get back to work with all of the Design Team over there.  In just the short amount of time I've been a member of the team, they've become some really fun friends.  Very supportive, friendly, funny and tremendously talented.  I'm lucky to be a part of it all!

Please take a minute and head on over to
The inspiration pieces shared are sure to get your creative Mojo goin'!  We look forward to seeing all of the great new entries.

Sentimental Sundays and All Dressed Up

Welcome to our new challenge at
Sentimental Sundays!
Our theme this week is:
Add Sparkles, Bling, and Buttons
And, as always, you need to add a sentiment to your new creation...
hence the name Sentimental Sundays.

Sponsoring this week we have the fabulous
The images at All Dressed Up are so fresh and fun!
Wendy Burns is the creative force behind All Dressed Up and has a great style all her own.  I love the cheery playfulness of her work.

The image that I used for my card
this week is actually a FREEBIE
that was so generously shared
at the All Dressed Up blog.
This gorgeous image is perfect
for so many different occasions!

Now for the copy and paste part of this post:
For the next several weeks, my posts are going to be just the basic invite to new challenges along with photos of my projects.  I found out that my left rotator cuff is torn and will require surgery to repair it.  I'm able to continue crafting for the time being but typing is really uncomfortable because of the angle that my arm is in to do so.
~~I'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact that I love crafting and don't love typing so much.~~

If you have any questions about the techniques or supplies that I've used on any cards, please leave me a comment.  Or you can email me.  The email information is in the left hand column just below my profile.

Please forgive me for not commenting on your blogs; but know that I am stopping by to take looks at all of the incredible creations my lovely friends are sharing.

Sentimental Sundays and Bugaboo Stamps

Since it's Sunday, it's time for a new challenge at

Our theme this week is:
Birthday for a Special Woman -- Using Pastels

I'm thrilled to tell you that our sponsor is
This is without a doubt one of my favorite digi companies.
You can find funny, sweet, and sassy images and sentiments there.
If you've not checked them out, you really should!!

The lovely folks at Bugaboo allowed all of us on the Sentimental Sundays Design Team to select our own images.  I couldn't pass up the hilarious "Stella, One More Candle - Frame It."

For the time being my posts are going to have to be pretty sparse.
My left arm is in a sling and typing is not only slow going but still quite painful.  I hope to have some answers to the cause of the problem this week.  Please forgive me for not commenting on your blogs; but know that I am stopping by to take looks at all of the incredible creations my lovely friends are sharing.

If you have any questions about the techniques or supplies that I've used on any cards, please leave me a comment.  Or you can email me.  The email information is in the left hand column just below my profile.

I carried the color scheme to the inside of the card using stamps from PaperTrey Ink.

We would love to see your new pastel birthday cards for a special lady in our challenge this week.
Good luck to all who enter!!

Sentimental Sundays and Sami Stamps

Thanks for stopping by today!
I'd love to invite you to a new challenge at

Our theme this week is:
Lovey Dovey
How cute is that?

Sponsoring is

I decided to use "Umbrella Love" for my card this week.
Isn't it such a sweet image?  I think it's very romantic!

The sentiment is from Little Yellow Bicycle's Journal stamp set.  I really like the way it wraps around the umbrella so nicely.  To play up the words, I traced over all of them with a light blue ProMarker.

I added the second part of the sentiment on the inside of the card.  Little hearts were added along the bottom edge of the inside.  They were made with a Martha Stewart Heart Confetti Punch.

One of my brand new, very juicy markers decided to hiccup all over just as I was finishing coloring.  Suddenly, there was a giant splotch right at the base of the pony tail.  Arrrgh!

This was a great time to remind myself of one of my favorite sayings:
There are no mistakes in card making....
merely new opportunities for additional embellishments.
So, my girl is wearing a rose and bow in her hair.
No more splotch.

This card can be found in the following challenges:

With Valentine's Day coming up so quickly, this is a great time to be working on your "Lovey Dovey" projects.  All of us on the Design Team at Sentimental Sundays look forward to seeing what you make.  Remember to add a sentiment to your project and good luck to all who enter.

Sentimental Sundays #190

Since today is Sunday, I'd like to invite you to our new challenge at

Sponsoring this week we have:

The theme we'd like to see you play with this week is
More Than 3 Layers
This is so appropriate for those of us here in central Indiana....we're all about layering it up right now.  Layers of clothes, layers of blankets, and layers of snow. This month is only 2/3 over and already we've had almost 23 inches.  ~~We average around 9 inches of snow for January.~~  In fact, it's snowing as I type this post and this was the view of our swimming pool while I made this card:

Buried under that snow, there really is a diving board.
We had about 11 inches of snow then....
from just one snow storm.
Ugh.

Needless to say, I'm really in the mood for some warm weather.
So I did the only thing I could do:  I worked with sunny colors.

That awesome image is "Helium" from Paper Pretties.
The sentiment is one of the 3 that are included with your purchase.
It's such a great value!  I loved coloring this adorable little guy with my ProMarkers.  He's definitely going to show up on some
Valentine's Day cards too.

The color scheme of the card was inspired by that great striped ribbon.  It's one that I picked up from the Michaels $1 ribbon bin.
The brads are Recollections.
The shimmery patterned paper is a Hambly Studio Screen Print from Paper Temptress.  It's called Little Circles.
All of the other items used to make this card are listed below.

You can find this card in the following challenges:
Di's Digi Designs -- Spots and dots
My Time to Craft -- All about the love
Jo's Scrap Shack -- It's a love thing
Simply Create Too -- Valentine's Day or use hearts
DRS Designs -- Love/marriage
Really Reasonable Ribbon -- Love and ribbon
Hobbycutz -- Lots of layers

All of us on the Design Team are so excited to see loads of great entries in our 3 Layers or More challenge this week.  Remember that because we are Sentimental Sundays we do need to see a sentiment on your projects.
