Open-Minded Crafting Fun Challenges

Today is a big day here in the crafting blogosphere!
Opening for business is a brand new challenge blog...
This promises to be a great challenge blog!
You should go check out the incredible sponsors they have lined up.  I'm so happy to be able to serve as a Guest Design Team member for their inaugural challenge.

The very first theme is:
New Tool/Technique
With all of the holiday goodies so many were lucky enough to receive over the past couple of weeks, this is perfect timing!  Of course who doesn't have a list as long as their arm of new techniques you want to try?  I sure do!

There are several sponsors for this week's challenge.
A Day for Daisies, Eureka, and Milkcoffee are all sponsoring.
Along with them, Crafty Sentiments will be providing a prize.  I received the adorable "Just Relax"  image from Crafty Sentiments to use for my card.  The sentiment is mine.  I added it using GIMP.

My new tool that I used for this card is my Sizzix Big Shot.
Santa (aka: my hubby) was sweet enough to bring me a die cutter....finally.  I only have a couple sets of dies so far and I'm having a blast using them!

I would like to wish the very best of luck to all of the folks over at
with this new endeavor.  They can be sure that I'll be joining in as many of the challenges as I can.  Remember all of those great sponsors I mentioned above?  Yeah, I'd like a chance to grab some of those goodies too!

You can find this card in the following challenges:

Below are the items used to make my card.

Creative Fingers & Sassy Studio Designs

Welcome to a brand new challenge at

We have an Anything Goes challenge this week.
Our fabulous sponsor is

All of the Design Team was lucky enough to be able to choose a
fun and fantastic images from Sassy Studio.
I decided on "The Greatest Gift."

Santa (aka: my hubby) was so sweet this Christmas and brought me a Big Shot.  Yay!!  I used the largest of the Spellbinders Lacey Circles to cut the image.  While the die was still in place, I inked around the image with Tim Holtz Victorian Velvet Distress Ink.

Lavender seam binding was woven through the scallops.  I added a small Prima mulberry flower and a resin flower over the "tails" of the seam binding to complete the embellishing of the image layer.

The banner was cut using my Cricut Expression and the Create a Critter 2 cartridge.  I merged 2 banners in Cricut Craft Room to make it long enough for all of the letters and the tiny hearts.

You can find this card in the following challenges:
Make sure you head over to
and check out all of the inspiration pieces
from the rest of the Design Team.
We all hope you're able to join the fun of this new challenge!
